Regulatory Disclosures for Personal and Business Banking
1. Your rights and liability for unauthorized transfers (Regulation E)
*This section describes protections required by Regulation E for consumer (individual) accounts. Business accounts are not legally required to receive these protections, but Vitez Bank extends the same error-resolution process to business accounts as a matter of policy. Illustrative*
Tell us AT ONCE if you believe your account or access credentials have been used without your permission, or if you believe a transfer shown on your statement is wrong. Contact us at info@vermilionvitez.com.
Your liability:
- If you tell us within 2 business days of discovering the unauthorized transfer, you can lose no more than $50.
- If you do NOT tell us within 2 business days, and we can show that we could have stopped the unauthorized use if you had told us in time, you could lose as much as $500.
- If your statement shows transfers you did not make, tell us within 60 days of the statement being made available to you, or you may not get back any money lost after the 60 days, if we can show that we could have stopped someone from taking the money had you told us in time.
Error resolution procedure: If you think your statement is wrong, or need more information about a transfer, contact us at info@vermilionvitez.com as soon as possible.
- We must hear from you no later than 60 days after we made the first statement on which the problem appeared.
- Tell us your name and account number; describe the error and explain why you believe it's an error, and the dollar amount involved; tell us the date it occurred.
We will investigate and tell you the results within 10 business days (20 business days for new accounts), and will correct any error promptly. If we need more time, we may take up to 45 days (90 days for new accounts, point-of-sale, or foreign-initiated transactions) — but if so, we will credit your account within 10 business days (20 for new accounts) for the amount you think is in error, so you have use of the money during the investigation.
A "new account" is one open 30 days or less, per Regulation E's standard definition.
